Here’s voting information for this summer’s party primaries

MONROE, CT — The Monroe Registrars of Voters office reminds voters of important information leading up to the Republican and Democratic party primaries to be held Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022.

All four regular polling places will be open 6 a.m. through 8 p.m.:

  • District 1: Fawn Hollow Elementary School, 345 Fan Hill Road
  • District 2: Stepney Elementary School, 180 Old Newtown Road
  • District 3: Monroe Elementary School, 375 Monroe Turnpike
  • District 4: Masuk High School, 1014 Monroe Turnpike

Changing from one party to another must have been done three months prior to the primary for enrolled electors.

Previously unregistered and unaffiliated electors may register with a party via mail-in, online or DMV registration until Thursday, Aug. 4.

The easiest and quickest way to register to vote is online, if you have a valid Connecticut driver’s license, learner’s permit or non-driver photo I.D. card issued by the Connecticut DMV. Click here to register online.

You may also click here to print a voter registration card to mail into the Registrars of Voters’ Office. Mailed applications must be postmarked by August 4, 2022.

You may register to vote in person at the Registrars of Voters’ office at Town Hall, 7 Fan Hill Road, Monroe, until 12 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022. Bring I.D. and proof of residence.

The Registrars of Voters will also be holding a special enrollment session on Tuesday, July 26, from 12 to 2 p.m., in the Registrars of Voters’ office at Town Hall. You may register to vote at this session. Bring I.D. or proof of residence.

The Registrar of Voters will also hear requests at this session by persons removed for adding their names to the registry list.

There will be no Election Day Registration for these Primaries.
