What makes you a great candidate for tax collector?

I have been a resident my entire life. My ancestors came to what was to become Monroe in the late 1700’s. I feel I can give back to the community by serving this beautiful town.

A concern to all residents is taxes and one way to assure to keep taxes down is to maintain a high collection rate. I use all resources available by State Statutes to obtain this goal. Our State legislators are always changing the statutes and I keep abreast of all the new mandates and changes to assure the Town is in compliance. Our office has taken advantage of this by adding Pay Pal and Google Pay to our online options.

Our office never closed due to the COVID epidemic. We were open for phone calls and walk-ins by appointment, unlike many other towns. We implemented a drop off system inside the police department for 24-hour drop-offs.

With our online system taxpayers can pay online anytime at their convenience. We also started mailing park passes in the tax bills. If a resident is new to town or got a new car, the tax office mailed out stickers to those.

We help taxpayers understand the complexities on how taxes are calculated and computed. With my years of training and experience with Tax Collecting, I feel I am the best candidate for the office as tax collector, benefitting the town and especially the taxpayer.
