Masuk girls head into basketball’s postseason following win

The Panthers defend during their Senior Night game against Joel Barlow this winter. The playoffs begin with a visit to New Milford.

Masuk High’s girls basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 51-44 road win over Weston on Feb. 17. With the win the Panthers (9-11 overall) earned the No. 11 seed in the South-West Conference playoffs and will visit No. 6 New Milford in the new play-in round.

The Panthers and New Milford Green Wave are scheduled to tip off playoff action Tuesday at 6 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Monday, but the snowstorm postponed school and games. Even with school already called off for Tuesday the game (as of Monday night) remained scheduled to be played, but subject to change (check back here as well as on swc-ct.com for updates).

In the win over Weston, Emma Troesser had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Sydney Lampley dropped in 14 points, Grace Sheppard 10 points, Maddie Farrer eight and Izzy DeBernardo seven.
