Masuk swimmers and divers conclude regular season

Will Hardy and the Panthers will compete in the SWC Championships this week.

NEWTOWN, Conn. — Masuk High’s swimmers and divers wrapped up the regular season with a visit to Newtown on Friday. The Panthers were beaten 90-80, but took home some first-place finishes in the meet.

In the 200 Yard Individual medley, Mason Eannotti took first place and Jack McHugh was second. Eannotti won with a time of 2:10:25 and McHugh finished second in 2:11:67.

In the 100 Yard Backstroke, Will Hardy was first in 1:00:87. Thomas Rodriguez took third place with a time of 1:09:34.

Newtown went exhibition just before this backstroke event. In the 100 Yard Breaststroke, Eannotti earned first place with a time of 1:09:23.

In diving, Jake Ryan was first with a score of 224.55 and Jude Mathien took fifth with a score of 126.15.

Both Masuk divers will compete in the South-West Conference Championships at Pomperaug on Wednesday starting at 5:30 p.m.. Masuk will host the SWC swim finals on Thursday at 5 p.m.
