Ambrosey embarks on ‘Listening Tour’ in Monroe’s first selectman race

MONROE, CT – Leon Ambrosey announced a “Listening Tour” to launch his campaign for first selectman. The Democrat, who owns a service station repair business in town and serves as a member of the Monroe Planning and Zoning Commission, is challenging incumbent Republican, Terry Rooney for the town’s top job.

Ambrosey says he wants to bring his “hands-on experience and a community-first mindset” to his campaign.

“I’m a proud Democrat,” Ambrosey said. “But I believe in a simple approach: listen first and do
what’s best for the town of Monroe. No one party has a monopoly on good ideas.”

As part of his campaign, Ambrosey is introducing a Listening Tour, designed to hear
directly from Monroe residents.

“I want to hear the concerns of our townspeople,” he explained. “I don’t pretend to have all the answers. In my business, I always put the customer first. As first selectman, I’ll take the
same approach, and I think that’s the kind of change Monroe needs.”

To make sharing feedback easier, voters can use “Tell Leon,” an online tool where residents can voice their concerns and ideas: leonambroseyformonroe.com/tell-leon.

“I’m looking forward to a healthy discussion of the issues, both with the people of Monroe and
with my opponent this fall,” Ambrosey said. “Election Day is Tuesday, November 4. Let’s move Monroe forward — together.”
