Monroe Masons present awards to Masuk student, longtime members

Masuk student Jocelyn Allen, in the red dress, was this year's recipient of the Masuk Masonic Award. Washington Lodge 19 presented it to her at a ceremony on Aug. 11.

MONROE, CT — Washington Lodge No. 19 presented the Masuk Masonic Award to Jocelyn Allen at a recent ceremony. For nearly 20 years, the lodge has worked with Masuk to give this award to a worthy student on an annual basis.

“We so proud of our choice this year,” said Roy Nealon, a longtime Mason.

The lodge also presented three 50-year pin awards at the dinner on Aug. 11, which was attended by Rinaldo F. Magliano, Grand Master of the State of Connecticut.

“It was a great ceremony to present 50 year awards to members Dave Manson, Dave Renken and Past Master Ken Twombly,” Nealon said. “These men have dedicated themselves to bettering the families, neighbors and community for the last 50 years.”

  1. It is lovely to see a masonic lodge continue to support their local youth while honoring those that have kept the lodge going.
