NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown Stage Company is back for another exciting summer season, offering two outstanding musical productions that showcase the incredible talent of local performers from Newtown, Monroe and other surrounding communities.
“Seussical The Musical Jr.,” running July 18-20 and “Mean Girls: High School Edition,” running Aug. 1-3. Both productions will be performed at Edmond Town Hall Theater, 45 Main St., Newtown, Concessions will be available at all performances.

For the first time ever, NSCo. is adding a high school production to its summer schedule, providing even more opportunities for local young actors to shine on stage.
For Seussical, the Cat in the Hat is played by Noah Napolitano of Monroe.
Other Monroe residents in the cast include: Addy Braun, Lily Briggs, Michael Dono, Ella Hardy, Aria Hittenmark and Quintin Hittenmark and Teddy Schroeder who play the Wicksham Brothers.
Monroe student volunteers include Cassidy Bloom, Landon Bloom, Alexis Brunnell and Richard Beirut.
‘Seussical The Musical Jr.’

First on the stage is “Seussical The Musical Jr.,” running July 18-20. This family-friendly show features talented performers in grades 3-8 bringing to life the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss, complete with beloved characters such as Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat and Gertrude McFuzz.
Directed by Ryan Loucks, with choreography by Erin Loucks and musical direction by Megan Kirk, Seussical Jr. is an energetic and fun journey perfect for audiences of all ages. This family friendly production runs for 1 hour and 10 minutes with no intermission.

‘Mean Girls: High School Edition’
Next, talented local teens take center stage in “Mean Girls: High School Edition,” running Aug. 1-3. This hilarious and timely musical adaptation of the iconic 2004 comedy “Mean Girls” follows Cady Heron as she enters the chaotic world of high school after growing up in Africa.
Directed by Katie Bloom, with musical direction by Kelly Burger and choreography by Erin Loucks and Angelina D’Albero, the show features performers in grades 8-12. With a PG-13 rating, this production is ideal for older kids, teens, and adults. It has a runtime of two hours and 30 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.

Both productions feature top-notch production value, including stage management by Tyler Violette who is assisted by Cassidy Bloom and Leah Crebbin, with lighting by Paul Merchant and Lindsay Hayes, sets by Maren Leyva, costumes by Dawn Field and Kristen Castaldi. The shows are supported by an incredible team of local volunteers and staff.
