MONROE, CT — A Monroe man is trying to reverse a $9,100 wire transfer after making an online purchase of an excavator from a company based in Iowa, according to a police complaint made Monday.
The victim told police the delivery date was supposed to be on June 3, before being rescheduled to June 6. When he checked with the company about it, he was told there was an issue with the carrier, so a third date was made for June 10.
Police said no delivery was made on the 10th, so the victim attempted to contact the company that sold the excavator to him, but did not get any response.
The case is under investigation as a possible scam.
