Monroe to celebrate Connecticut Trails Day Sunday

A Trails Day group from 2024.

MONROE, CT — Monroe Parks and Recreation will celebrate Connecticut Trails Day this Sunday, June 8, with a free family hike on the town’s Rails to Trails from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Participants will learn about sunscreen and tick protection.

Members of the public are welcome to meet Parks and Recreation and Monroe Health Department staff at the Great Hollow Lake concession pavilion, 454 Purdy Hill Road, at 10 a.m.

Though the hike is free to all participants, preregistration is encouraged, so there will be enough supplies for the special activity.

Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
