MONROE, CT — A 37-year-old Winsted woman turned herself in on a warrant Thursday morning, charging her with fourth degree larceny after she and another woman allegedly stole $2,461 worth of baby formula from Stop & Shop, 470 Monroe Turnpike, on June 24.
Danielle DiMeo was released on $1,000 bond for a Sept. 27 court date.
On June 24, an asset protection associate told police the women entered the store around 9:06 p.m. took the baby formula off a shelf, concealed it in their bags and left without paying, driving off in a black Ford SUV.
Monroe police detectives investigated the incident and developed probable cause to arrest DiMeo as one of the suspects and applied for the warrant, police said.
Fraud complaint
A 42-year-old Monroe woman reported a fraudulent charge for a coffee maker made on her Bank of America app Thursday.
Police said the charge of $84.95 was made after someone accessed the victim’s account, then had the coffee maker shipped to a Massachusetts address.
The woman notified her bank and contacted police in the Massachusetts town to inform them of the delivery that was on its way, according to police.
The victim was advised to place alerts on her credit.
Cocaine found
A 49-year-old man was cited for a suspended driver’s license and driving with a suspended registration, and charged with possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on Route 110, near Moose Hill Road, Thursday evening.
Police said an officer stopped the man’s vehicle at approximately 5:11 p.m. and later found a clear bag containing a white powdery substance in his pocket, which later positive for cocaine.
Wilton police also had a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear in court. He was released on a total $6,500 bond for an Oct. 8 court date.
