What makes you a great candidate for town clerk?
I moved to Monroe in 1984 and I have lived in Connecticut my entire life. I first became involved in town through the Monroe Jaycees which gave me a wide range of knowledge of community spirit. Quite frankly, the Jaycees helped me realize my passion for giving back to the community that I love.
All three of my children were educated in the Monroe Public School System K-12. I understand the workings of not only the school system but also town government. I am very proud of Monroe and what it has offered me both community and career wise. I am dedicated to our veterans and in awe of how they are honored and cherished by this town.
When I became Town Clerk, I thought I would hit the ground running. I had no idea what was involved in the day to day routine of the office. My experience working in the First Selectman’s Office helped along the way. However, the process of becoming a CT licensed town clerk takes three years of classes followed by an extensive CT State test. The knowledge that is necessary in this position is endless and there are always changes and challenges. I absolutely love serving my town not only through my responsibilities as town clerk but also staying involved with the community through volunteerism.
