Update: Due to an extreme weather forecast, the CT United Ride is canceled.
MONROE, CT — The 22nd annual CT United Ride will roll through Monroe this Sunday, causing traffic delays and road closures on Main Street (Route 25) between 12 and 2:30 p.m., according to a traffic advisory issued by police.
The motorcycle ride, sponsored by The UPFFA of Connecticut, will pay tribute to heroes lost in the line of duty: Bristol Police Lt. Dustin DeMonte, Bristol Police Sgt. Alex Hamszy and North Haven Firefighter Matthias Wirtz.
Preregistration is Saturday at Captain’s Cove Marina, at Bostwick Ave. in Bridgeport, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is $30 per rider and $30 per passenger.
Registration on Sunday, the day of the ride, is limited. It will be at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
