A Monroe father named Chris Norko and his daughter Charlotte were the two top winners at the Terror at the Dam Costume Contest. Chris won in the “Scariest” category and Charlotte won “Best Overall”. Chris’ wife, Janine, was also a contender.
Charlotte received a $150 prize, along with a $25 Vazzy’s gift card and her father won $50 cash and a $25 Vazzy’s gift card.
The “Cutest” costume went to Brianna who was a scary prom queen and the “Funniest” to Jack Verizo, who went as Guy Fieri. Both won the same prize that Chris did.
“It was a nice evening with families enjoying themselves, and having fun,” said Peggi Gnandt, an organizer of Terror at the Dam, which included live music, food trucks, vendors and Fear World, a traveling haunted house that came to Z-Topia for the month of October.
“Everywhere you would look, you would see everyone enjoying themselves,” she said. “The amount of people thanking us for bringing these events to the area, were plentiful. And to see young children, dressed up in costumes just warms our heart.”
“This is what it is about, to bring the community together with their families to have a fun night out,” Gnandt said. “Mission accomplished!”
