MONROE, CT — The annual Prom Fashion Show took place on Wednesday, March 15, and featured around 40 Masuk seniors modeling the newest trends for prom this year, along with skits performed later in the night. The auditorium was full as the audience watched the seniors walk in gowns and tuxedos of many different colors and styles.
The Prom Fashion Show was created to help raise money for Post Prom at Masuk High School. The event is normally held for a few hours after prom to continue a safe evening for students.
Senior Class President Chris Tierney said the Prom Fashion Show was a fun experience, and he liked being able to do it because it was something he would not normally do. Being able to participate with his friends made it even more fun, he added.
“We rehearsed for two days prior to the show and each day we spent around three hours practicing,” Tierney said.
In addition to the ticket revenue, an online auction raised money during the show. Participants bid on prizes, including ski tickets, a trip to Jones Winery and laser tag to name a few.
The Senior Prom will be held at The Waterview on Friday, April 21, and be followed by the Post Prom.
