To the Editor:
We, the Republican members of the Monroe Town Council, are writing this letter of endorsement to support our friend and colleague Tony Scott and his campaign for State Representative.
Tony has been a wonderful addition to the Town Council since his appointment in January of 2020. Councilmember Scott has brought commonsense solutions to evaluate and better the Town’s budget and operations. Tony has shown himself to be a great listener and even better advocate for the people and businesses of Monroe.
Before his appointment to Town Council, Tony served Monroe as Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission and oversaw the preservation and enhancement of Monroe’s parks. Mr. Scott also spearheaded the plan to grow the Summer Concert Series into the great events we all know and love.
We know Tony to be a person of many talents and a person of incredible character. Tony is diligent, hard-working, intelligent, and knowledgeable about the needs of the people and businesses of Monroe and Newtown.
The best candidate for the people and businesses of Monroe and Newtown is Tony Scott. With Councilmember Scott as our State Representative, Monroe and Newtown can be confident that the interests of the District will come first. Tony will be a great voice for Monroe and Newtown.
