HARTFORD — State Representative Tony Scott (R-112) was sworn in at the State Capitol in Hartford Wednesday. Scott was joined by his wife and their twin daughters as he took the oath of office to represent the residents of Monroe, Easton, and Trumbull in his third term in office.

For the 2025-2026 session, House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora appointed Rep. Scott to serve as Ranking Member of the Housing Committee. He will also serve as a member of the Human Services and the Executive & Legislative Nominations committees. Previously, he served on the General Law and Higher Education & Employment Advancement committees.

“I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get back to work for the people who entrusted me to be their voice at the Capitol. We have a few big challenges ahead of us, including tackling electric costs, rising homelessness and general affordability,” Scott said.

After being sworn-in, legislators acted on the General Assembly’s operating rules for the upcoming year. Scott voted in favor of the new rules, which were approved by the House of Representatives in its first order of business of the new session.

As the legislative session at the Capitol gets under way, Rep. Scott encourages his constituents to keep in touch by calling his office at (800) 842-1423 (toll-free) or by writing him an email at [email protected].

The session is scheduled to run until June 4th.
