MONROE, CT — A local woman told police someone cashed a $1,000 check from her Bank of America account without her permission, and another two attempts made for a combined $2,000 were unsuccessful.
Police said the woman realized the $1,000 check was cashed on Sept. 10, then that another attempt was made on Sept. 13 without success.
Another unsuccessful attempt to cash a $1,000 check was made on Wednesday, but the victim had closed her account by then and the transaction was not processed, according to the report.
The victim reported the fraud incident on Wednesday and police are investigating the complaint.
