Toddlers wearing costumes of superheroes, fairytale and TV show characters marched in Edith Wheeler Memorial’s annual Halloween Parade Thursday, collecting candy from library employees, before walking to Town Hall in a drizzling rain.
Some Town Hall employees wore costumes themselves as they gave out candy to their young visitors. The parade ended with a last stop at the Monroe Police Department, where officers topped off children’s baskets and bags of candy.
First Selectman Ken Kellogg credited Deputy Finance Director Heidi Meade with Town Hall’s elaborate Halloween decorations. He said Meade bought the materials with her own money and worked on the weekend to set it up.
