MONROE, CT — Families brought their children to the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Open House Saturday morning, a fun event for kids to learn fire safety tips and climb aboard trucks and other emergency vehicles, before taking home their plastic firefighter helmets.
The open house also offers refreshments and snacks and families interact with local firefighters and get to see equipment in the station at 18 Shelton Road up close.
