MONROE, CT — Monroe residents are allowed to use the ramp for boating and kayaking on Lake Zoar, but passes are needed.
To obtain a pass, visit the Monroe Parks and Recreation website, click on “Memberships,” then Lake Zoar. There, instructions are listed to obtain a boat ramp pass through the mail. Currently, this is the only way the department can process passes due to the Covid-19 situation.
To purchase a boat ramp pass, make a copy of your driver’s license, registration* of car towing boat, boat registration and safe boating certificate, a completed credit card authorization form (download at www.MonroeRec.org) or a check payable to the Town of Monroe.
The fee is $75 for a vehicle with motorized boat and trailer or RV type vehicle with or without trailer. If you have a kayak or canoe, provide a copy of your driver’s license, car registration* of the vehicle carrying your kayak or canoe, a completed credit card authorization form (download at www.MonroeRec.org) or a check payable to the Town of Monroe.
The fee is $50 for a standard vehicle carrying a kayak or canoe without a trailer.
All documents can be left in the drop box at the police department lobby, be mailed to the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department, 7 Fan Hill Road, or scanned and emailed to [email protected]. Your pass will be mailed to you.
*One membership card is issued per Lake Zoar pass. Full fee is charged for additional passes for additional vehicles.
