The Masuk High girls volleyball team strung together two recent wins to raise their record to 4-2.
On Monday, the Panthers defeated Norwalk High 3-0 (25-7, 25-4, 25-20). The offense was led by Laura Micu (6 kills), Samantha Sullivan (5 kills, 5 aces) and Lucy Pagel (3 kills). Rose Kealey handed out 14 assists to go along with her 7 aces. Alexis Mitrakis (3 aces), Jenna Datillo (2 aces) and Carly Snyder (1 ace) contributed to Masuk’s dominance from the service line.
Wednesday’s action saw the Panthers travel to Stratford to defeat Bunnell 3-1 (25-15, 23-25, 25-18, 25-9). Rose Kealey dealt out 33 assists to go along with her 4 service aces. Laura Micu was the recipient of many of those assists totaling 14 kills. Sullivan (8 kills), Hanna Fagan (6), Tolu Olatinwo (4) and Lucy Pagel (3) rounded out the offense.
Masuk continued its strong play on the serve with Micu (5), Snyder (3), Lucy Pagel, Fagan, Datillo and Sullivan all dealing out aces. Defensively, the Panthers were led by Olatinwo (3 blocks) and Sullivan (16 digs).
The Panthers will return to the court to face a strong Newtown team on Friday night, in Monroe, at 6:15 p.m.
