NEW HAVEN, CT — Masuk High’s boys swim team came in ninth among 52 teams in the State Open at Yale on Saturday. The Open consisted of the top swimmers from all class sizes across the state and the Panthers put in quite an effort with five school record-setting swims along the way.
In the 200 yard medley relay Masuk took third place in their heat and eighth overall with a time of 1:39:66. The relay team for this event consisted of Jack McHugh, Carter Adragna, Mason Eannotti and Brendan Kirberger.
In the 200 freestyle Kirberger was fourth overall. His time was a 1:42:31 which is a personal best time and a new Masuk High School record.
In the 200 yard individual medley Eannotti was fifth in his heat and 22nd overall with a time of 2:03:95. In the 50 free Adragna came in fifth in his heat and 12th overall with a time of 21:90.
Kirberger was third overall in the 500 with a personal best and Masuk record-setting time of 4:34:51.
In the 100 backstroke Eannotti took second place in his heat and 13th overall with a time of 54:72. This is a personal best time and a new Masuk record. Also in the backstroke race McHugh took fourth place in the heat and 19th overall with a time of 55:54.
In the 100 breaststroke Adragna won his heat and placed 12th overall with a time of 1:00:99. This is a personal best time and new Masuk record.
In the 400 yard free relay Masuk took second place in its heat and was eighth overall with a time of 3:15:98. The relay team for this event consisted of McHugh, Adragna, Eannotti and Kirberger. This is a personal best time for them and new Masuk High School record.
