MONROE, CT — A New Milford man in his early 20s died in a motorcycle crash on Monroe Turnpike (Route 111), near Old Zoar Road, late Friday night.
Police said he was heading south, near the old Stevenson Lumber property, when he lost control of his bike just past Old Zoar Road, went off the road and struck a tree before coming to rest in the roadway.
An area resident who heard the crash called the police, who responded along with firefighters and Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service volunteers.
The rider was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said. As of Sunday evening, police did not yet release the man’s identity.
