MONROE, CT — Police arrested a Fairfield man on a warrant alleging sexual assault and possession of child pornography Wednesday after a lengthy investigation involving multiple Monroe victims.
Monroe detectives embarked on the investigation in October, while following up on a cyber tip regarding pornographic images and arrested Ralph Mirto, 52, at his 424 Tahmore Drive home in Fairfield without incident Wednesday night.
Fairfield officers assisted Monroe police in serving the warrant. Mirto was taken to the Monroe Police Department and processed.
Mirto, who lived in Monroe at the time of the incidents, was charged with two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, three counts of voyeurism, risk of injury to a child, dissemination of voyeuristic material and illegal possession of child pornography in the first degree.
Mirto’s bond was set at $1 million and he was transported to Bridgeport Superior Court for his arraignment this morning.
