Monroe Parks and Recreation reschedules concerts, character nights

MONROE, CT — Due to several rainouts this summer, the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department rescheduled a number of its concerts and Character Nights. Here is the updated schedule.

The annual Movie Night is scheduled for 7 p.m. this Friday, Aug. 16, at the Wolfe Park Stage area with a showing of “SING 2”. The movie starts at sunset, around 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Bungles Show that was rained out back in July is being made up at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 14, at the Wolfe Park Stage area.

“All the dates that were open, the original group couldn’t make it,” Parks and Recreation Director Missy Orosz said. “We are grateful that Moto was able to come in their place.”

The ‘Simply Swifties Band’s show, was also postponed due to inclement weather on Aug. 9. It has been rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 18.

The Taste of Sheet Rock Band show that was postponed due to weather on June 21 is being made up on Friday, Aug. 30, at 7:30 p.m. with the band Moto.

The Mass Conn Fusion Band concert that was rained out on Aug. 2 is being made up on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m., which is a different start time.

Two Character Nights were postponed due to weather.

Tom Weber is coming to the Great Hollow Lake Pavilion for a Character Night, 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 21. Bring your camera.

“The one with children’s musician, Judy Pancoast will be made up in the fall and the one with the BenAnna band will be made up by a different children’s musician,” Orosz said. “As soon as we have a date it will be announced.”
