MONROE, CT — A Monroe man told police he ordered “a large amount” of Playstation 5s from what he thought was a legitimate Twitter account, spending $2,800 using Apple Pay. However, he never received the game consoles.
Police are investigating the complaint, which was made on Jan. 13.
Fraudulent purchases from L.L.Bean
A local woman received a notification that someone was trying to change the password of her Yahoo email account. Then another email from L.L.Bean thanked her for her purchase — which she did not make.
Police said someone used her credit card number for several purchases totaling close to $1,0970. She reported the fraud on Jan. 10.
