MONROE, CT – Russia’s bombing and invasion of Ukraine is taking a toll on Ukraine’s children, putting them in grave danger of physical harm, emotional distress, and displacing and separating them from their families at an alarming rate.
In an effort to find a way to help, the Monroe Democratic Town Committee, its board and commission members, is sponsoring a fundraising drive through Save the Children. The goal is to raise $2,000 for the cause.
To donate, click on this link, which goes directly to Save the Children, a nonprofit that already has people on the ground delivering humanitarian aid in the form of food, blankets, emergency lodging, tools and more to help the million plus children and their families.
In a statement, the MDTC said:
We are sure that the residents of Monroe join us in feeling dismay and sadness at the plight of the refugees, especially children, fleeing their homes and country. Please join us, along with your friends and family, in helping these children of Ukraine in a small way by donating on our Facebook page. Thank you in advance for your generosity and concern.
