Monroe Bicentennial Year Memorial Day Parade details, the line of march

MONROE, CT — The town will celebrate Memorial Day Sunday with its Bicentennial year 2023 Memorial Day Parade “Honoring our Heroes- Past and Present” at 1 p.m. with a ceremony following at the War Memorial directly located in front of Monroe Town Hall.

Local veterans will lead the parade, followed by military groups and police officers, First Selectman Kenneth M. Kellogg, State Rep. Tony Scott, R-Monroe, and other officials from the state of Connecticut, as well as Monroe’s three volunteer fire companies and volunteer emergency medical personnel.

Also included in the parade is the Connecticut 2023 Kid Governor Elisavet “Ellie” Mendez, Monroe Elementary School fifth grader, as well as the 2023 “Poppy Princess” Annabella Carr from Brookfield Middle school.

Celebrating its 75th Anniversary the 2023 Barnum Festival will be in the parade featuring 2023 Ringmaster George Estrada and his wife Rita with members of the Royal Family:

The Monroe Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating its 100th year. A special addition is the Connecticut’s Beardley Zoo’s Zoomobile.
