MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s girls volleyball team continued its winning ways, following up consecutive wins over Immaculate and Newtown with a pair of 3-0 victories.
The Panthers beat visiting New Milford on Sept. 20. Laura Micu had 2 aces, 17 kills, 1 block, 7 digs; Abby Urkawich recorded 2 aces, 5 kills and 13 digs; and Mia Tyler compiled 28 assists to go along with 1 block and 1 ace.
Masuk then defeated Kolbe Cathedral in Bridgeport on Monday. The Panthers aced this test with Mia Tyler and Olivia Cusa both logging 5 aces. Tyler also had 11 assists and 2 digs. Olivia Cusa and Kaylen Kreiner both had 4 kills.
The Panthers fell 3-0 at Joel Barlow in Redding on Wednesday but racked up some good stats.
Urkawich had 2 aces, 9 kills and 6 digs; Tyler registered 19 assists, 5 digs and an ace; Micu had 4 kills, 3 blocks and 11 digs; Lily Yerrington registered 2 blocks; Addison Scott had 4 kills; and Casey Frangus came up with 13 digs.
Masuk visits New Fairfield today (Friday, Sept. 27), at 6 p.m.
