NEW HAVEN, CT — Masuk High’s girls and boys indoor track teams competed in the South-West Conference Championships at the Floyd Little Athletic Center on Saturday. The Panthers had some impressive performances throughout the meet.
The girls placed ninth with 16 points and the boys were 12th with 11 points.
Both squads had runner-up results with Ella McGee finishing second in the 55 meter dash in 7.57 seconds and Tristan Smith coming in second in the shot-put event with a throw of 53-2.5.
Mcgee also placed sixth in the 300 with a time of 44.25. Kylie Hurme was 12th in the 300 with a time of 46.46.
In the 1000 Ashley Colberg came in sixth in 3:23.57.
Emma Sheppard took 11th in the 1600 in 5:55.81.
The 4×200 relay of Mcgee, Aubrey Zvovushe-Ramos, Semia Zylick and Hurme was fifth in a time of 1:56.02.
Masuk’s 4×800 comprising Allison Benedetto, Nikol Kupieieva, Giovanna Headley and Emily Barnhart was seventh in 11:43.85.
The sprint medley relay team of Zvovushe-Ramos, Zylick, Olivia Cusa and Colberg was fourth in 4:49.44.
Masuk boys
In the 300 meter run, Jackson Zylick placed 10th in a time of 38.67 seconds. In the 600 Sean Panella took sixth in 1:30.61.
The 4×200 relay of Colin Valle, William Brewster, Max Viglione and Zylick came in seventh in 1:40.94.
Masuk’s 4×400 team of Viglione, Christian Cardona, Justin Fanning and Lorenzo Mathews Dixon was seventh in 4:00.96.
In the 4×800 relay race Jeremy Gniadek, Filip Wadolkowski, Jahdami Reid and Matthew Cerrato took eighth in 10:19.69.
Masuk’s sprint medley relay comprising Valle, Brewster, Sebastian Riera and Brayden Hershberger came in sixth in 4:08.95.
In the pole vault event Nicholas Kauke was 12th with a 10-0. In long jump Viglione came in sixth with a leap of 19-10.
