Masuk High’s boys swimming and diving team finished out the regular season with a 92-84 win over visiting Weston on Tuesday. The Panthers improved to 7-2.
In the 50 yard freestyle, Carter Adragna came in first with a 22.39. In the 100 Fly, Mert Baykus placed second and Will Hardy came in third to give Masuk some points and get the momentum going, which was much-needed to start the second half of the meet.
Masuk was trailing and then Brendan Kirberger, Jack McHugh, Mason Eannotti and Carter Adragna pulled through placing first in the 200 yard freestyle relay earning eight points to tighten up the score.
Hardy placed first in the 100 backstroke event with a time of 58.67 and was closely followed by Eannotti with a 1:00.65 for third. In the 100 yard breaststroke Adragna came in first with an impressive time of 1:04:94.
Baykus, Hardy, Eannotti and Kirberger placed first in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:43.39.
Masuk will host the South-West Conference Swim Championships Friday, March 7, at 5 p.m. State trials, finals and State Opens will follow in the weeks after that.
