MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s softball team bounced back from a 2-1 setback to Fairfield Ludlowe on April 5 with a 16-0 drubbing of Kolbe Cathedral, while holding their opponent hitless on Monday. Both were home games.
Against Ludlowe, Julia Bacoulis allowed two runs on four hits, struck out 11 and walked six.
Isabelle Viglione went 2-for-3, Alyssa Castillo was 2-for-3 and Natalie Lieto went 2-for-4 with all three players recording a single and double. Aubrey Zvoushe-Ramos drove in the lone Masuk run.
The Panthers erupted for nine runs in the opening inning of the Kolbe game. Grace Ely threw a no-hitter, issuing two walks and fanning 13.
Lieto was 2-for-2 with a double and homer, Madison Aguirre homered, Castillo collected two hits and Bacoulis went 3-for-4, including a triple, and walked twice.
