Masuk High’s boys’ hockey team remained perfect in 2022, extended its winning streak to five and improved to 6-1 this winter.
The Panthers followed up a 2-1 win over the Milford co-op on Jan. 8 with a 3-1 victory over Newtown-New Fairfield on Jan. 10, a 5-2 triumph over McMahon-Norwalk on Jan. 12, a 4-2 victory over Guilford on Jan. 15, and an 8-3 win over the Shepaug co-op the next night.
Goaltender Tory Beck has been fantastic in the net, stopping 89 of 95 shots over the course of the last four games.
Leading the offensive effort has been Nick Kondub, Austin Braiewa, AJ Michetti and Drew Scalia. Kyle Cirillo, Connor Ewald, Justin Aleman and Colin Deering have been excellent on defense for the Panthers.
Masuk will host Watertown-Pomperaug, at the Rinks at Shelton, Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. The Panthers visit the Joel Barlow co-op Saturday, Jan. 22, at Danbury Ice Arena; face off is at 12:40 p.m.
