Masuk hockey team follows up close battle with win

SHELTON, CT — Following a hard-fought 6-5 defeat to Branford in Northford on Dec. 21 the Masuk High boys hockey team skated to a 6-3 win over visiting Woodstock Academy at the Sports Center of Connecticut on Saturday.

In the Branford game Luke Kondub scored three times and Tommy DaPonte and Connor Kehlenbach both lit the lamp.

Christian LaBella and Graham Cybart both had two assists and Teddy Walsh, Chase DeSanto, Kondub and Kehlenbach all earned assists.

Against Woodstock Academy LaBella and DaPonte both netted two goals and Kondub and Kehlenbach each had one.

LaBella factored into all six tallies with assists on four. Kondub and Kehlenbach each notched two assists and Kyle Riccitelli also helped set up a goal.

Maddex LaFountain was in net for both games.

The Panthers are 1-2-1 and next play Jan. 8 against Milford at Milford Ice Pavilion at 6 p.m.
