Masuk girls volleyball team set for busy stretch of matches

MONROE, CT — After a week-plus of practicing since its first match, Masuk High’s girls volleyball team is set to get back into game mode in a big way.

The Panthers, who dropped their season opener 3-1 (25-19, 16-25, 25-20, 25-10) to visiting Westhill of Stamford on Sept. 3, will host another FCIAC school, Trumbull, Friday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m.

Then comes the South-West Conference matches as the Panthers host three familiar foes in five days next week: Immaculate of Danbury Monday, Sept. 16, Newtown Wednesday, Sept. 18, and New Milford Friday, Sept. 20. All matches are set for 7 p.m., subject to time change based on JV matches prior to varsity starts.

In the Westhill match Laura Micu had two aces, nine kills and 15 digs; Mia Tyler registered two aces, 22 assists and 11 digs; and Addison Scott had an ace, seven kills, three block assists and five digs.
