Masuk High School’s female divers competed in the State Finals Meet in Middletown on Thursday, Nov. 9, and the swimmers competed in the State Trials Meet in East Lyme on Saturday.
Masuk diver Carly Jordan placed 6th overall and medaled with 328.60 points.
“Eliza Palmieri joined Carly at the championship meet and did very well too with 242.35 points,” said Coach Emily DeMace.
On Saturday, 13 Masuk swimmers competed. “We had a total of 16 — including divers — make it to the Class M State meet,” DeMace said.
Among the highlights:
Lena Savkovic, Lucia Morales, Yara Shaik and Skye Eannotti placed 9th in the 200 Medley Relay and are swimming at the Finals
Savkovic placed 6th in 50 Free and is swimming at Finals
Abby Kirberger placed 24th in 100 Fly and is swimming at Finals
Morales placed 10th in 100 Free and is swimming at Finals
Eannotti placed 24th in 100 Free and is swimming at Finals
Eannotti placed 20th in 500 Free and is swimming at Finals
Shaik, Eannotti, Savkovic and Morales placed 8th in the 200 Free Relay and is swimming at Finals
Savkovic placed 3rd in 100 Back and is swimming at Finals
Shaik placed 22nd in 100 Back and is swimming at Finals
Morales placed 6th in 100 Breast and is swimming at Finals. Kira Vido tied for 20th and is swimming at Finals
Siobhan Smith, Grace Sheppard, Claire Valle and Emily Hull placed 15th in the 400 Free Relay and is swimming at Finals
Other swimming competitions includes Abby Kirberger 200 Free, Kira Vido 50 Free, Cecilia MacIntyre 50 Free, Yara Shaik 100 Free, Tierney McGunnigle 500 Free, and Jocelyn Allen 100 Back.
Masuk’s swimmers will compete at Southern Connecticut State University this Tuesday, Nov. 14.
