The Masuk High girls swimming and diving team opened the season with a Sept. 9 visit to Stratford. The Panthers fell 91-79, but recorded plenty of strong finishes. The Panthers bounced back in their homer opener with a 90-76 triumph over Bunnell on Sept. 13.
“We swept the board in a lot of events and (Assistant Coach Tom Horan) and I are super proud of all the girls,” Coach Emily DeMace said. “And I know the girls were really happy to win tonight too — they really wanted this. Now we are 1-1 and we’re hoping to keep the momentum and spirit going.”
The Panthers will look to keep up the winning ways Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Pomperaug when the teams meet at 5:30 p.m.
