Masuk girls soccer and volleyball teams advance

Masuk High’s girls soccer and volleyball teams both advanced in State Tournament action and will play on Thursday.

On the soccer field No. 14 Masuk heads to No. 6 Woodstock Academy for a Class L quarterfinal round game Thursday at 2 p.m.

The Panthers are coming off a 1-0 win over No. 19 Ledyard at home on Nov. 1 and a 3-2 upset of No. 3 Bethel on the road on Monday.

On the volleyball court the No. 7 Panthers will host No. 10 Bristol Central in a Class L second round match Thursday at 6 p.m. Masuk is coming off a 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-16) win over No. 26 Brookfield on Tuesday.

In boys soccer action No. 26 Masuk lost 2-1 at No. 10 Wethersfield in the second round of Class L play on Tuesday.
