MONROE, CT — No opponent has been able to stop Masuk High’s girls golf team, and only the weather has slowed the Panthers down. Masuk, through action on May 5, is a perfect 8-0, coming off wins in three competitions over the course of four days to begin play in May.
The Panthers went to Sunset Hill Golf Course to take on Brookfield on May 2. The match had to be completed the next day and Masuk prevailed 173-237. Kate Wittenauer and Carrie Wittenauer both carded a 42 for medalist honors. Lauren Rosati had a 59, Lauren Breyan 46 and Emily Florin 43.
Masuk had a rematch with Brookfield at its home course, Whitney Farms Golf Course, on May 4, and won 194-251. Rosati was medalist with a score of 46. Carrie Wittenauer had a 49, Kate Wittenauer 48, Izzy Roy 51 and Florin 63.
In a May 5 home match with Bunnell, the Panthers shot a 198 to defeat Bunnell (313). Kate Wittenauer was medalist with a 47, Carrie Wittenauer had a 50, Elissa Campos 49, Roy 54 and Breyan carded a 52.
Masuk is scheduled to return to the course on Monday, May 9, with a visit to Pomperaug.
