Masuk High’s girls golf team put together an impressive postseason. The Panthers, coming off a second-place finish in the South-West Conference Championships in late May, came in third at the Division II State Championship match.
Masuk scored 420 and finished behind only Newtown in the SWC competition at Brownson Country Club. Then in the D-II State match, held at Timberlin Golf Course on Wednesday, June 5, Masuk scored 371, behind only Berlin (333) and St. Paul Catholic (359).
Masuk was led by seventh-place finisher Alex Cecchino who carded an 84. Abigail Yeager came in 12th with a 92, Adriana Lupo was 16th with a 93, Emma McIntyre placed 32nd with a 102 and Jocelyn Allen came in 49th with 111.
In the SWC meet, Lupo scored a 98, Cecchino had a 100 and Yeager 102 to lead the Panthers.
