BRIDGEPORT, CT — Another game and another one in the win column for the Masuk High girls basketball team. Coach Dan Young’s Panthers defeated host Kolbe Cathedral 54-50 on Friday night. With the win, the Panthers improved to 11-1.
Masuk trailed 13-10 after one quarter of play, but put up 20 points in the second to seize a 30-25 halftime lead. Kolbe got to within three points at 43-40 heading to the fourth.
Bailey Bajda led the way with 19 points, including a 10 for 12 free throw shooting performance, Grace Kearney had 13, Hannah Fagan and Dani Dube each dropped in nine, and Charlotte Pinto and Grace Sheppard both tacked on two points.
The Panthers will host Brookfield Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m.
