WOODSTOCK, CT — The 18th ranked Masuk High girls basketball team won its first round Class L State Tournament game Monday, going on the road and defeating No. 15 Woodstock Academy 51-38.
Bailey Bajda scored 19 points to lead the offense, Natalie Lieto scored 13, and Hannah Fagan and Grace Kearney each scored seven.
The Panthers led 19-10 after one quarter of play and 32-20 at the half.
With the win, Masuk visits No. 2 Holy Cross in the second round on Thursday, March 2; tip is at 6:30 p.m.
