MONROE, CT — Led by a solid defensive effort from the start, Masuk High’s girls basketball team rolled past visiting Shelton 44-21 on Saturday.
The Panthers led 9-2 after one quarter of play and established a 24-6 halftime lead en route to bouncing back from a one-point loss to Brookfield the night before and improving to 2-1.
Hannah Fagan dropped in a dozen points, Bailey Bajda scored nine, and Natalie Lieto, Grace Kearney and Jenna Smith all contributed five in the victory.
