Masuk cross country teams compete in SWC Championships

BETHEL, CT — The South-West Conference cross country teams came together to race in the championship meet on the scenic course at Bethel High on Wednesday.

The host Bethel boys and New Milford girls came out on top. Masuk’s boys came in 10th and the Masuk girls were ninth.

Masuk’s Sebastian Rivera led the Panthers and finished 23rd overall in a time of 18:14. Teammate Brayden Hershberger placed 32nd in 18:43.5. Panther Jeremy Gniadek was 58th in 20:14.9.

Parker Connolly was the top Masuk finisher in the girls’ race.

In the girls race Parker Connolly was Masuk’s fastest to the finish line, coming in 30th in 23:29.5. Teammates Kathryn Majersky (24:27.9) and Nikol Kupieieva (24:36.8) finished 45th and 46th.

Also competing for the Panthers in the boys race were Filip Wadolowski with a time of 20:34.2. Dylan McKellick in 21:21.8, Chase DeSanto in 21:46.1 and Jahdami Reid in 21:46.2.

For the girls the other Masuk competitors were Annabelle Kelly finishing in 26:54.9, Brigitte LaRiviere in 27:42.9, Emily Barnhart in 28:28.0 and Giovanna Headley in 30:06.3.
