Masuk boys swim and dive team competitive against Brookfield

Carter Adragna, in action earlier this winter, had some strong swims in a Jan. 7 meet at Brookfield.

BROOKFIELD, CT — In its first-meet since a season-opening win back on Dec. 19 the Masuk High boys swimming and diving team held its own in a 90-80 loss at Brookfield on Tuesday.

“Even though we had a tough loss, we had some amazing swims, which kept the meet fun and full of energy,” Masuk Coach Jenna Manion said.

Among the highlights was the Panthers’ performance in the first event with its 200 yard medley relay team of Carter Adragna, Mason Eanotti, Jack McHugh and Brendan Kirberger taking first in a time of 1:44.53.

Adragna won the 50 free in 22.23. Kirberger took first in the 100 butterfly (54.84) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.63). Eanotti won the 100 backstroke event in 56.84.

The Panthers are home Tuesday, Jan. 14, when New Fairfield visits at 4 p.m.
