DANBURY, CT — Down 11 points in the third quarter the Masuk High boys basketball team dug deep and came away with a 61-56 win at Immaculate on Tuesday.
A great team effort led to the comeback. Chris Welch had a huge steal at the end and Mitch DeBernardo hit a 3-pointer to seal the win. DeBernardo finished with 11 points, three assists, 10 rebounds and two steals. Welch had nine points and three rebounds.
Stephen Sentementes scored 11 points, had six assists, six rebounds and two steals. Alex Simoulidis contributed 11 points, six assists, three rebounds and a trio of steals. Oliver Irving racked up 15 points, 11 of which came in the third, to go along with three assists, three rebounds and four steals. Jaylen Africot had four points, two rebounds and a block.
Masuk (6-1) will host New Fairfield Friday at 7 p.m.
