Madonna Mondo to be remembered for her infectious smile, quick wit

Madonna Mondo (Shepley), 97, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, November 4, 2024.

She was predeceased by her parents Florence and Charles Shepley, her loving husband of 41 years, James P. Mondo Sr., and a son James P. Mondo Jr.

She was a devoted wife, mother and Nanna who never knew a stranger. Her infectious smile could light up any room and her quick wit would keep you on your toes.

She will be greatly missed by her son Bruce C. Mondo, (wife Kathy Mondo), her daughter Robin Wheeler, (late husband David Wheeler). Her seven grandchildren, Donna Schiebe (partner Tom), Michelle Delos (husband Chris), James Mondo III (wife Jackie), Bruce Mondo Jr. (wife Katie), Michael Mondo, Brian Wheeler (wife Casey), Laura Wheeler (partner Bridgett).

Thirteen great-grandchildren, three step great- grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one great-great grandchild expected to arrive in December.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sandy, her loving caregiver of many years.

Visitation hours will be 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home in Monroe on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Church beginning at 11 a.m.
