Libera “Libby” Antoinette Dattolo D’Amico

Libera “Libby” Antoinette Dattolo D’Amico, 85, of Monroe, passed away on August 7th surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert S. D’Amico Sr. She was born in Bridgeport on May 10th and was the daughter of Italian immigrants, Libero and Antoinette Costanzo Dattolo.

She retired from Sikorsky Aircraft after 25 years, traveled across the country with her sister Nellie in 1999 like “Thelma and Louis”, and cruised through Italy to celebrate her 80th Birthday. She enjoyed annual vacations with her children, grands, and greats. A New York Giants fan and an avid bowler for many years, she loved her casino trips!

Survivors include her son, Robert D’Amico Jr. and his wife Paula, daughters, Antoinette D’Amico, Claudette Lima and her husband, Marco, a brother, Frank Dattolo and sister, Rose Anderson, grandchildren: Douglas Murray and his wife, Cecila, Sabrina Bologna and her husband, Andrew, Tyler D’Amico and his fiancée, Corinne, and Alexis D’Amico, great grandchildren: Nico, Milena and Damien.

She was predeceased by brothers, Joseph, John, Philip, August, Robert and Enrico Dattolo and sisters, Millie DeAngelo, Nellie Grosko, Evelyn Paradiso, Margaret Beaumont and Madeline Dattolo.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 15, from 4-8 p.m. at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, Conn. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 16, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Road, Monroe.
