MONROE, CT — Gavin DeGraw could not perform at Z-Topia tonight, leading to a cancelation of the concert. However, organizers are still gearing up for the Jam at the Dam in Stevenson this Saturday when a musical lineup of country singers Tyler Hubbard, Chase Wright and Taylor Austin Dye roll into town.
Peggi Gnandt, an organizer of the event, expressed enthusiasm over what’s in store for fans coming to 1545 Monroe Turnpike Saturday.
“The crew is working hard to make tomorrow’s Jam at the Dam epic,” she said Friday afternoon. “The layout is unbelievable and the grounds have been transformed into an amazing outdoor venue, different from any past events.”
The gates open at 1 p.m., when an array of food trucks, a Beer & Wine Garden, and vendors will be on hand for eating and shopping. Parking is free and golf carts will be circulating for anyone who needs assistance.
Chase Wright will go onstage at 5 p.m., Taylor Austin Dye at 7 and Tyler Hubbard at 9. Tickets may still be purchased at jamatthedam.com.
A case of laryngitis
Following the news of DeGraw not being able to perform and cancelation of Jam at the Dam’s first day Friday, full refunds were offered to fans who bought those tickets.
DeGraw released a statement on social media:
Last night I went onstage already starting not to feel my best, but wanted to power through the show hoping my voice would clear up. Unfortunately, it only proved that I was getting laryngitis from an unavoidable cold.
It breaks my heart to cancel a show, but going onstage sick last night has rendered my voice useless for the next few days, so I’d rather let you all know that as soon as I could. My voice is shot this week. I owe you one.
To all my amazing friends and fans, I wish I could somehow fix this and get better overnight, but this one’s kicking my ass. Let’s raincheck and make it extra special on the next one.
