MONROE, CT – Masuk High School welcomed Isabella “Bella” Vaitkus as the school’s new athletic trainer. Vaitkus, who currently serves as athletic trainer for the Yale University Clinic-Based Per Diem Outreach Program, primarily assisting athletic programming at Jonathan Law High School, will start her new job on Nov. 18.
Masuk Athletic Director Brian Hourigan said Vaitkus brings a positive attitude, great energy, and a strong commitment to the health and well-being of student-athletes, adding her diverse background and dedication to fostering safe, healthy athletic environments make her an invaluable addition to Masuk’s Athletic Department.
“We are thrilled to have Bella join our team and look forward to the positive impact her skills and enthusiasm will bring to our athletic community,” he said Friday.
“I’m super excited to be a part of the Masuk family and help the student-athletes reach their fullest potential on and off the field, Vaitkus said of her new role. “Go Panthers!”
Vaitkus graduated with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Central Connecticut State University in 2023, followed by a Master of Science in athletic training in 2024.
Prior to being hired by Yale, Vaitkus built her resume with hands-on experience at Wolcott High School, Avon Old Farms School and Central Connecticut State University, working with student-athletes across various levels and sports.
In addition to her expertise in athletic training, Vaitkus is approved by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers. She also holds certifications as an EMT and an American Red Cross CPR/AED instructor.
Her training and experience equip her to handle a range of sports-related health and safety situations, enhancing the care provided to Masuk’s athletes, according to Hourigan.
